Physician Assistant Prescriptive Authority Legislation Passes House of Representatives

Sub. HB 284, the Physician Assistant schedule II prescriptive authority bill, passed the Ohio House of Representatives today with an overwhelming majority of votes.  The bill will now proceed to the Ohio Senate for referral to a senate standing committee, likely the Senate Health and Aging Committee.

House Bill 284 is modeled after the APN schedule II prescriptive authority legislation (SB 83) that became law earlier this year.  Physician Assistants will be restricted to the same site restrictions that are now ...

The people who make and sell deadly synthetic drugs are smart. Ohio officials hope they’re just a little bit smarter.

Attorney General Mike DeWine and other state leaders said yesterday they are going to turn up the heat on synthetic drugs that one physician described as turning users into “combative, out-of-control, fairly psychotic people.”

Physician Assistant Prescriptive Authority Legislation Passes Out of Committee

Sub. HB 284, the Physician Assistant schedule II prescriptive authority bill, was recommended for passage today by the House Health and Aging Committee.  A substitute version of HB 284 received an overwhelming majority of votes today in the committee.  The bill will now proceed to the House Rules and Reference Committee who will determine when the bill will go to the house floor for a vote of the entire Ohio House of Representatives.
