This promises to be a busy two year session that will commence working on legislative priorities immediately. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these individuals, as they will certainly review legislation this session that will directly impact your practice. Enhanced Reimbursement for Primary Care

Group practices, with eligible physicians and which employ APRNs (Advanced Practice Registered Nurses) and PAs (Physician Assistants), may receive the enhanced reimbursement for primary care as outlined in the ACA (Affordable Care Act). Representatives from the Council for Ohio Health Care Advocacy (COHCA) met today with Medicaid officials at the Office of Medicaid Assistance (OMA) to discuss Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Physician Assistant (PA) qualification for enhanced payments under provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

SENATE COMMITTEES ANNOUNCED

The Ohio Senate released committee assignments and a shuffle in committee names and purposes. The Medicaid, Health and Human Services Committee will be chaired by Senator Shannon Jones.
