New Ohio Law Requires Additional Concussion Awareness Training for Coaches

The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) reported Friday that more than 16,000 coaches will be required to have concussion training before they can receive their three-year pupil activity permit under HB143 (Stinziano-O’Brien), which was passed late last year and which became effective today, April 26.

ODMH Delays Statewide Implementation of Health Homes

Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH) Director Tracy Plouck announced recently that the deadline for moving the concept of “health homes” statewide for individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses (SPMI) has been reset from July 1, 2013 to Oct. 1, 2013.
