in Ohio Law that Certified Nurse Midwives

May Sign Birth Certificates

House Bill 95 passes out of the Ohio General Assembly to clarify in Ohio law that Ohio Certified Nurse Midwives may sign birth certificates.

At the request of the Council for Ohio Health Care Advocacy, (COHCA) State Senator Shannon Jones amended language into HB 95 to clarify that Certified Nurse Midwives may sign the birth certificates of the babies they deliver in Ohio.

Wymyslo Leaving Health Department

Dr. Ted Wymyslo will step down as Ohio Department of Health director at the end of the month and return to private medical practice, Gov. John Kasich’s office announced today. Kasich plans to announce a replacement before Wymyslo leaves. Read more in Tuesday’s Hannah Report.
